How to read these product cards. Models with a 5.8G sensor (UVC Block) cut the UV-C emission when they detect people and are designed for continuous use in occupied spaces. Disinfection-only devices (X36, UV-C X50 bar) are more powerful and must be operated in unoccupied areas or at height, or with the beam confined, as per their manual. UV-C acts on the surface it illuminates: it reduces the exposed microbial load, but it does not penetrate the inside of the product or replace your plant's cleaning and control procedures. Which equipment do I need for my case?
It depends on what you want to treat. For product surfaces or processing lines: X36 or UV-C X50 bar. For occupied spaces with everyday lighting: A60, UFO, recessed downlight (140, 174, 184 or 215 mm depending on your false-ceiling cut-out) or panel. For air: UV-C X50 bar, which works as an air purifier and is used without people present or installed at height. For process water: UV-C water reactor, 2.3 m³ model. If you are unsure about power or coverage, message us on WhatsApp or email sales@uv-life.com with the floor area in square metres or details of your line, and we will size it with you.
Is it safe to use UV-C with people in the room?
Only with equipment designed for it. Models with a 5.8G presence sensor (UVC Block) cut the emission when they detect movement. Disinfection-only devices (X36, UV-C X50 bar) have no sensor: they are operated in unoccupied areas, at height or with the beam confined, following the manual. Direct exposure to UV-C harms skin and eyes.
What is the real scope of UV-C disinfection?
UV-C works by line of sight: it reduces the microbial load on the surface it actually illuminates. It does not penetrate the inside of a product or pass through opaque packaging or shaded areas, and bacterial spores are considerably more resistant than vegetative cells. It is an additional layer of control on exposed surfaces, not a substitute for cleaning, controlled cooling or your HACCP plan.
Do you have laboratory evidence?
Yes. We work with external laboratories such as SGS and Bureau Veritas, as well as field studies with customers. The high reduction percentages quoted in the industry come from laboratory inoculation on surfaces; in real plant conditions, results depend on dose, distance, exposure time and initial load. When we prepare your quote, we tell you which results apply to your case and where they come from.
Do prices include GST and customs duty? What about shipping?
Published prices are in US dollars (US$) and exclude GST and import customs duty. The equipment is shipped from Chile, and the customer pays the Basic Customs Duty, IGST and any other import charges at Indian customs on receipt. We ship across India; shipping cost depends on the destination city and the size of the order and is set out in the formal quote.
Do you issue invoices and sell to businesses?
Yes. We sell to businesses through Goldzeit SpA, the Chilean company (RUT 77.414.825-6) that owns UV-Life and issues the corresponding invoice. We handle orders, formal quotes and on-site installation projects. Write to sales@uv-life.com or message us on WhatsApp.
