Which UV-C system do you need?

Match the equipment to what you need to disinfect. Product surfaces and processing lines call for the X36 or the X50 bar; occupied rooms use the A60, the UFO, recessed lights or the panel; air with people present needs a closed-chamber purifier, and process water needs the in-line UV-C reactor. If you are unsure about output or coverage, write to us with your square footage or your line layout and we will size it with you.

How to read these spec cards. Models with the 5.8G sensor (UVC Block) cut the UV-C emission when they detect people and are designed for continuous use in occupied rooms. The disinfection-only units (X36, X50 bar) are higher output and must be operated in unoccupied areas, mounted high, or with the beam confined, as stated in their manual. UV-C acts on the surface it illuminates: it reduces the exposed microbial load, it does not penetrate the inside of the product and it does not replace your plant's cleaning and control procedures. Prices are in US dollars (USD) and do not include sales tax. Sales tax, where applicable, is calculated at checkout or itemized on your quote.

Shop FAQs

The questions we hear most often when customers are choosing a UV-C system.

Which UV-C system do I need for my application?
It depends on what you need to treat. For product surfaces or processing lines: the X36 or the X50 bar. For occupied rooms that also need daily lighting: the A60, the UFO, a recessed light (140, 174, 184 or 215 mm, depending on your ceiling cutout) or the panel. For air with people present: the closed-chamber air purifier. For process water: the 2.3 m³/h (10 GPM) UV-C reactor. If you are unsure about output or coverage, message us on WhatsApp with your square footage or the details of your line and we will size it with you.
Is UV-C safe to use with people in the room?
Only with the equipment designed for it. Models with the 5.8G occupancy sensor (UVC Block) cut the emission when they detect movement, and the air purifiers keep the lamp inside a closed chamber with no exposure to the room. The disinfection-only units (X36, X50 bar) have no sensor: they are operated in unoccupied areas or with the beam confined, following the manual. Direct UV-C exposure harms skin and eyes.
What can UV-C disinfection realistically reach?
UV-C works by line of sight: it reduces the microbial load on the surface it actually illuminates. It does not penetrate the inside of a product, it does not pass through opaque packaging or shaded areas, and bacterial spores are considerably more resistant than vegetative cells. It is an added layer of control on exposed surfaces, not a replacement for cleaning, controlled chilling or your food safety plan.
Is there laboratory testing behind the products?
Yes. We work with independent laboratories such as SGS and Bureau Veritas, plus field studies with customers. The high reduction percentages quoted across the industry come from laboratory inoculation on a surface; under real plant conditions the results depend on dose, distance, exposure time and initial load. When we quote, we share which results apply to your case and where they come from.
Do prices include sales tax? What about shipping?
Published prices are in US dollars (USD) and do not include sales tax. Sales tax, where applicable, is calculated at checkout or itemized on your quote. We ship throughout the United States; the cost depends on the destination and the size of the order. You can also request a formal quote for a purchase order.
Do you invoice and sell to companies?
Yes. Goldzeit SpA (Chilean tax ID 77.414.825-6) is the official UV-Life representative and the selling entity, and it issues commercial invoices. We work with purchase orders, formal quotes and in-plant installation projects. Write to ventas@uv-life.com or message us on WhatsApp.
Are any products out of stock or discontinued?
Yes, some models are listed as quote only. If one of them is what you need, write to us: we can tell you the restocking timeline or recommend the current equivalent product.
