Surface + Air Disinfection With UV-C Light

Germicidal ultraviolet (UV-C) light eliminates 99.9% of viruses, bacteria and fungi on surfaces and in the air, with no chemicals and no added labor hours. Choose your equipment based on the square footage of your space: lights that illuminate and disinfect, or higher-output disinfection-only units.

How Does UV-C Disinfect Both Surfaces and Air?

The same germicidal UV-C light that inactivates microorganisms on surfaces also reduces the microbial load in room air. Fixed over counters, floors, handles and equipment, or run continuously in open spaces, it damages the DNA of viruses, bacteria and fungi so they can't reproduce — without chemicals or added labor.

🧪

Surfaces

Counters, desks, floors, handles and equipment receive UV-C light that damages the DNA of viruses, bacteria and fungi and keeps them from reproducing. Ideal for restrooms, kitchens, break rooms and process areas.

💨

Air

Air units continuously sanitize airborne particles, even with people in the room in models with a focused beam. It's the equivalent of turning over the room's air several times an hour, with no ozone.

Is your space a laboratory?

Laboratories Need More UV-C Power

The germicidal band runs from 200 to 280 nm, but it doesn't all perform equally: the DNA of viruses, bacteria and fungi absorbs the most radiation around 265 nm. That's where UV-Life's UV-C LEDs emit. A mercury germicidal tube runs at 254 nm, outside that peak, and loses around 30% germicidal efficiency: on top of the wavelength mismatch, the tube wears down, progressively losing output in a way that's hard to spot by eye.

Output also sets the cycle time: more milliwatts means fewer minutes of exposure for the same dose. With the higher-output X50 Bar and X36 Light, a lab can sanitize its critical zones more often during the day and with more effectiveness per cycle.

  • 265 nm, the exact point of maximum DNA absorption
  • X36 Light and X50 Bar, higher output for shorter cycles
  • No mercury, no ozone and no tube replacement

Models with a 5.8G presence sensor (UVC Block) turn the UV-C light off when they detect people, for safe use in occupied rooms. Disinfection-only units (X36 and X50) are higher-output and should be operated in unoccupied spaces or with a focused beam per their manual.
